To delve or not to delve......

So after a massive weekend of winter festivities I am finally able to sit and jot a few words to you. Our little fam spent the weekend in the big smoke, stayed in a flash hotel and were tourists in our own city (oh yeah, Sydney, the smuggest of all our cities). We caught the Archibald Prize at the gallery, saw the lights of the vivid festival (they made the Opera house even more spectacular), spent a day at Taronga Zoo and even watched Yo Gabba Gabba live after winning tix on the radio (backstage and all, meet and greet, i hugged dj lance...never washing again).

But by far the highlight was celebrating my Nan's 100th on Monday. We got together around 50 relo's for the day and had a little knees-up down at her local. She had a few glasses of champers, a beer or two and a baileys. Nan had a fine old day and was surprised that such a fuss could be made of her, the telegrams from the Queen, governor general, prime minister and mayor really blew her away.

Nan is the youngest of five sisters (that's her clutching gloves and a purse), all pictured here with their Mum Annie (sitting). Not sure when this was taken but fancy going out with your hat and gloves, i'm doing alright if i go out without slippers.

One of Nan's sisters descendants was at the do and mentioned to me that she had been sniffing around ancestry.com.au and has uncovered a couple of skeletons and was wondering if she should ask nan for some info, realising what an amazing living resource she is. Obviously her 100th shindig wasn't the appropriate forum to dig up old ghosts but it really got me thinking that when she goes she will take a lot with her and what a great shame that will really be.

So I am left with a quandary? Dig and delve or let sleeping dogs lay?

What do you think?

Love Shay xxx
